Small Groups

We believe that fellowship with other believers is of utmost importance in the spiritual growth and development of every believer of Christ. The early church gathered together daily in fellowship with each other. They broke bread and prayed with one another (Acts 2:42; 4:31; 12:5). They financially contributed toward the benefit of one another as well (Acts 4:36-37; Rom. 15:26; 2 Cor. 9:13; Phil. 1:5). The Church partnered with one another to support widows and orphans (1 Tim. 5:8; James 1:27). A fellowship among believers displays the unity and oneness of the Church.

Fellowship among believers also indicates the presence of the Triune God. John mentions this in his first Epistle, “that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). Therefore, Scripture seems to indicate that for a believer to have spiritual growth they must have frequent fellowship with other believers. The very image of the church, the Body of Christ implies that believers need one another and actually belong to one another (Rom. 12:5). For a quality spiritual life in a believer and in a church, fellowship is of the utmost importance.
